Located right in the centre of Lorne, the Lorne Leisure Centre offers terraced grounds overlooking the oval - which has recently had an automatic sprinkler system installed.  As Lorne is in the enviable position of having plenty of water, the oval will maintain its fresh grassy look throughout year.   The oval is suitable for a variety of team sports and there is a separate netball court. Both these grounds are lit for nightime games.  Inside there is a stadium catering for badminton, volleyball, basketball and netball. There is also a selection of gym equipment for use in training of football teams etc.

The complex is the ideal venue for sports and social groups seeking a quiet accommodation venue for pre-season training.

Football clubs taking advantage of this venue for training purposes include Essenden, Old Melbourians, Forrest, Redan and many others.

It is also ideal for beach and bush training and is handy to a swimming pool, shops, surf club and the Erskine river.

The facility comprises as well as the stadium, an office with its own kitchenette, commercial size kitchen equiped with the basic cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery,  etc., a large lounge/multi purpose room which has been recently carpeted, shower and changing facilities and indoor and outdoor male and female toilets.

The kitchen has direct access to the multi purpose room making this arrangement ideal for parties and functions. Catering can be arranged.

Bookings for all or part of the facility can be for a little as an hour or several days. However bookings for overnight stays normally are limited to a minimum of two nights or longer, but a shorter stay can be arranged under special circumstances.

BOOKING POLICY  - Bookings are taken on a first come first served basis.   Reservations cannot be made twelve months in advance and on receipt of letter of confirmation, if deposit is not received within 2 weeks, the booking is able to be re-let.

CANCELLATIONS - If made within one month of day of commencement of bookings, no refund on deposit.

USERS CONDUCTING ACTIVITIES MUST HAVE THEIR OWN PUBLIC LIAIBILITY, AND A COPY IS TO BE ENCLOSED WITH BOOKING FEES.

(For unstrucutured groups wishing to make bookings who do not have their own Public Liability Insurance, arrangement for insurance can be arranged via the Surf Coast Shire - an small extra charge might be incurred.)
