When you plan to visit Lorne for your holiday stay, one of the most important element which you should consider is the weather and climatic conditions of the region in general and Lorne in particular.

This part of the region in Australia has witnessed extensive European colonization due to its special attractions which include climatic conditions. The region receives rain all over the year with mild cold season to warm summer. Though there are brief cold spells, you can not witness an unbearable and severe cold in the coastal region. The moderate altitude of the region plays a vital part in reducing the minimum temperatures during the winter season. The low rate of annual rain indicates transition in weather conditions to semi arid conditions. Very rarely the temperatures will record above 100 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celsius. The latitude of the region also affects the sunshine hours in a day. Normally during summer season the sunshine averages between 8 to 9 hours in a day whereas in winter season the sunshine will be available only for 5 to 6 hours in a day. The Lorne area gets disturbed weather due to cloud and low rainfall.

During the months between January to March, the average daily minimum temperature remains in the range of 13.4 degrees to 14.6 degrees Celsius. The daily maximum temperature during this period ranges from 21.1 to 23 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperature in February. During this period there will be rainfall for 6 to 9 days in a month with rainfall ranging from 29.7 mm to 38.6 mm. on an average in a month.

During this period there will be rainfall for 11 to 15 days in a month with rainfall ranging from 54.7 mm to 59.4 mm. on an average in a month.

During the months between July to September, the average daily minimum temperature remains in the range of 7.4 degrees to 8.1 degrees Celsius, with the minimum during July.
